Loch na Cachla-uisge, Na h-Eileanan Siar

View to the mountains of South Uist

Uploader's Comments

These fine peaks guard the settlements of South Uist around Lochboisdale. This view is taken from the A865, the spine road that links the Uists and Benbecula, next to a lochan which is effectively a northern spur of the enormous and fragmented Loch Druidibeag. The mountain peaks from left to right are Thacla 606m (1988ft), Beinn Choradail 527m (1729ft) and Beinn Mhor 620m (2034ft). Thacla is also known as Hecla.
