The building is a small telephone exchange, formerly called Grogarry until that exchange name was dropped some while ago. Similar telephone exchanges can be found on South Uist at Bornish, Daliburgh and Carnan (Eochar). The one on Benbecula is at Balivanich (thanks to David Hillas for this information).
