Howlea Lane is a minor road connecting, in part, Wolsingham, in Weardale, with Bedburn to the south. The period covering November and December 2015 as well as the early part of January 2016 had been exceptionally wet locally which in part accounts for the standing water but in any case, the pictured roadside pool does regularly spill over on to the road.
