Lamas Covert, Norfolk

RAF Coltishall

Uploader's Comments

Concorde only made one take-off and landing in Norfolk, on an experience flight from London Heathrow to RAF Coltishall and return. Coltishall had a runway long enough to accommodate this unique aircraft. Despite the distance between Heathrow and Coltishall only being around 100 miles the aircraft flew over the north sea towards Norway in order to give passengers the full Mach 2 experience. This was taken not long after G-BOAD had landed and offers an unrepeatable view of some of the Coltishall buildings from beneath one of the delta wings and one of the Rolls-Royce/SNECMA Olympus turbojet nacelles, which houses two engines.
