Cobham.-- par. and vil., mid. Kent, on Watling Street, 4 miles SE. of Gravesend, 3056 ac., pop. 919; P.O., T.O.; 1 mile E. of vil. is C. Hall, from John to James I. the seat of the old lords of Cobham, and now the seat of the Earl of Darnley; it stands amidst the sylvan glades of C. Park and C. Wood. Near the church is C. College, built in the reign of Elizabeth, an almshouse, with a fine old hall.
