Barons Pond, Ealing

Baron's Pond from Pope's Lane

Uploader's Comments

Baron's Pond is across Pope's Lane from one of the entrances to Gunnersbury Park. The name possibly comes from Baron Lionel de Rothschild who owned the land in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was the Rothschild family who sold the land which now forms Gunnersbury Park to the nation in the 1920s. The pond is now classed as a nature reserve by the London Borough of Ealing who own it.
