An Sgorag, Argyll and Bute

Sgeir Sgoraig off the coast of Lismore

Uploader's Comments

Paddling southwest down the southeastern coast of Lismore, just after passing the handy landing of [[[1232680]]], this small skerry lies just offshore. Overcast weather and lots of kelp make it a prime place to look out for otters in the daytime, but we were unlucky this time. Lismore itself can be seen beyond the skerry, and ahead we can see the Lismore lighthouse (actually on Eilean Musdile) which is beyond today's eventual destination. Faintly visible beyond that are the hills of Mull, clear on the day this photo was taken, but with a covering of snow by next day, which is not what had hoped for in May!
